A little gem from a Doris Day classic.

This example of old-fashioned love advice from the musical “Calamity Jane”, is up there with “What’s the use in wonderin'” for being thoroughly backwards. Thank God in the 21st Century we have abandoned such traditional messages when it comes to romance. But you’ve got to admire the way she busts moves and never stops smiling like she’s on Prozac. Plus she high kicks like the class of ’57 head cheerleader in a heavily boned corset and bustle- Kudos.

…Still, I know all the words.

… and in fact it’s one of my favourites.

… guilty pleasure? No, It’s a cultural reference for sure.
