Time for Tea!

Today we had a tea party, our friend is taking a year abroad in L.A, so we thought we’d leave the taste of something quintessentially British in her mouth before her departure. Our mum (a keen ebayer) has been collecting art deco tea cups and saucers for a while from the 1920s and 30s we combined her porcelain with a selection of loose leaf teas and a collection of sweet and savoury finger foods…

We’ve been preparing all day and now we’re absolutely stuffed and gagging for a cup of tea in a proper size mug!

Nia is unimpressed at Ffion’s posing and thinks we should get on and polish the silver.

Our inspiration for the tea party came from – “The Vintage Tea Party” by Angel Adoree, “The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook”, “Home Bakes” Eric Lanlard and or course Nigella Lawson.

  1. Hello from Texas! I love your blog!!

My granddaughter and I have tea parties all the time, with REAL British sugar tongs from a friend in England. We also love to go to a place in Austin called Full English —

I’m off to look up “The Vintage Tea Party!”
